    We are currently seeking a Data Marketing Analyst to join our Princeton, NJ team of professionals. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a company who is changing with way marketing is accomplished.

     

    This individual will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks using specialty software to prepare, organize, and correct electronic files consisting of customer data, demographics, as well as other related information for direct mail marketing purposes.

     

    Our ideal candidate is an individual who has Bachelor Degree with a background in Marketing, Computer Science, Math or MIS and has 4+ years conducting the full scope of the merge purge, data hygiene, data mining and modeling production processes in the direct marketing industry.  This individual has strong working knowledge with relational databases and software such as Redpoint, Datalever, Ab-initio, Group 1, FirstLogic PostalSoft, or their equivalents.  This individual needs to have an eye for detail, a proven ability to deliver accurate work and effectively manage a heavy volume of projects in a deadline driven environment.

    Responsibilities

    Responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to:

     

    • Evaluation of client specs and creation of project plans;
    • Perform file reformatting, hygiene, and standardization;
    • Conduct merge/purge and data consolidation routines;
    • NCOA processing;
    • General and statistical analysis of results and reporting;
    • Basic Extract/Transform/Load (ETL) tasks using relational databases;
    • Collect, review and input data into ALC’s data processing systems; audit output data;
    • Coding and scripting of routine procedures;
    • Identify and solve production related errors;
    • Create metadata, supporting documentation, and billing summaries for production output.

    Qualifications

    In addition, our "ideal candidate" has the following skills & experience:

     

    • Bachelor Degree with a background in Marketing, Computer Science, Math or MIS preferred;
    • 5+ years conducting the full scope of the merge purge, data hygiene, data mining and modeling production processes in the direct marketing industry;
    • Strong working knowledge with relational databases and software such as Redpoint, Datalever, Ab-initio, Group 1, FirstLogic PostalSoft, or their equivalents;
    • Ability to work in UNIX, PERL and MS Windows environments
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Internet applications;
    • A basic understanding of data file processing tasks such as working from and maintaining a checklist, keeping an audit log of tasks and counts before and after processing, understanding the goals of a given process and creating tests to make sure those goals are met;
    • A basic understanding of relational databases and how to use graphical tools to merge and extract information from them;
    • The ability to work quickly, accurately, and independently checking work as it is completed;
    • Able to clearly communicate technical concepts and tasks with clients and internal staff;
    • The ability to multitask, working on several projects for different clients simultaneously;
    • Must be detail-oriented and have strong organizational skills.
