    We are currently seeking an Assistant Controller to join our Princeton, NJ area team of professionals.

     

    We are looking for a driven Assistant Controller to handle all aspects of the company’s accounting and financial reporting functions. You will play a crucial role in establishing the financial and operational processes needed to support our company’s growth. You will be responsible for key functions such as the preparation and presentation of financial statements, revenue recognition, month end close, financial reporting, accounts payable and receivables, tax, audit and compliance.

    Responsibilities

    Position Responsibilities:

    • Coordinate and prepare monthly forecast/budget analysis and reports;
    • Review General Ledger and Financial Statements on a monthly basis and provide analysis as requested;
    • Review monthly G/L journal entries and workpapers to reconcile G/L accounts;
    • Prepare and audit monthly external client revenue reports;
    • Prepare monthly internal client revenue and profitability analyses;
    • Reconcile to the published financial statements
    • Work directly with Tax preparers for annual/quarterly tax payments/filings;
    • Responsible for treasury management;
    • Implement and administer financial management system and financial reporting system;
    • Calculate monthly sales commissions accruals;
    • Facilitate the year-end audit and preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP;
    • Work directly with business leaders and other senior management to gather information required to produce budgets and forecasts;
    • Backup specific tasks handled by related positions (Sales Tax reporting, Banking; Accounts Payable; Cash Application, etc.);
    • Document processes and workflows;
    • Perform financial research and generate ad-hoc analyses as needed;
    • Complete other special projects as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Experience Requirements:

     

    • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related major;
    • Solid understanding of GAAP;
    • 8-10+ years overall accounting experience. Public/Private accounting experience mix preferred;
    • Strong computer proficiency in G/L systems (Great Plains experience is preferred);
    • Expert Excel skills a must (pivot tables, lookups, IF-AND statements, creating and working with Macros, etc.), strong proficiency Microsoft Office suite;
    • Advanced to Expert financial reporting experience a must;
    • Strong proficiency creating database applications;
    • Strong analytical and organizational skills;
    • Experience with Host Analytics and Cognos a plus;
    • Ability to effectively handle multiple tasks and identify improvements opportunities;
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines with little supervision;
    • Must be a team player and self-starter;
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
    • Ability to work with various levels of management;
    • Strong work ethic and the desire to learn.
